â„šī¸ About This Tool

How It Works

Vedic Astrology Transit Finder calculates the precise moment when a planet crosses into a specific Zodiac sign or Nakshatra using:

  • Swiss Ephemeris: Industry-standard astronomical calculations
  • Lahiri Ayanamsa: Traditional Vedic sidereal zodiac system
  • Linear Search Algorithm: Daily scan with hour and minute-level refinement for precise transit timing
  • Date Range Limit: Maximum 2 years (730 days) to ensure fast and accurate results

Understanding the Results

  • Date & Time: Exact moment of transit in UTC (convert to your timezone)
  • Longitude at Entry: Sidereal position (0-360°) when entering the sign/nakshatra
  • Degree in Rashi: Position within the 30° span of that sign
  • Degree in Nakshatra: Position within the 13°20' span of that nakshatra
  • Pada: Quarter of the nakshatra (1-4), each pada is 3°20'

Rashi vs Nakshatra

  • Rashi (Zodiac Sign): 12 divisions of 30° each
  • Nakshatra (Lunar Mansion): 27 divisions of 13°20' each
  • Each Rashi contains: 2.25 nakshatras
  • Each Nakshatra contains: 4 padas (quarters)

Special Notes

  • Rahu & Ketu: Move retrograde (backwards through zodiac)
  • Slow Planets: Jupiter and Saturn stay in signs for longer periods
  • Fast Planets: Moon changes signs every ~2.3 days and nakshatras every ~1 day
  • Nakshatra Transits: More frequent than rashi transits, useful for daily muhurta
